Salary: Grade D - £25,992 - £27,711 FTE (This will be paid pro-rata to reflect hours and weeks worked)

Working Pattern: This is a permanent position working 30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Orchard Vale Community School is a successful and friendly school that provides exciting and rewarding learning opportunities for its pupils.

We require a highly motivated Kitchen Manager from mid-December 2024 who is a talented individual, has great cooking skills along with a passion for preparing fresh food from scratch.

We are seeking someone who is passionate about providing fresh, healthy food for the children and staff and who will work closely with our school team. We employ our own catering staff to provide in house catering. We have a large, well-equipped kitchen and a friendly team and an experienced Academy catering lead who will work alongside you.

Successful candidates will:

  • Manage the day-to-day preparation of meals to a high standard within budget
  • Order food and materials
  • Maintain a hygienic kitchen
  • Effectively manage other members of the kitchen team
  • Promote the service to attract the maximum number of children and positively encourage healthy food choices
  • Possess knowledge and experience as a Kitchen Manager along with the minimum of NVQ Level 2 in Catering; Level 3 would be preferable
  • Have a proven track record of managing teams and controlling catering budgets

You will receive a full induction and appropriate training. You will need to have some experience of working in a large kitchen, preferably in a school context.

This is a permanent position working 30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, 8am to 2pm Monday to Friday.
